Intention Definition & Exploration of Ideas:     The concepts I chose to follow in my animation are Nature and Looking Outward. This combination is about looking around in our everyday lives and finding that nature is there everywhere we go, throughout our whole lives. No matter how old you are, we all experience nature in some of the same ways. We all watch the snow fall outside of our window in the winter. We see the leaves fall from the sky during a walk in autumn. We feel the wind as we roll our car windows down in the summer. And we watch as colorful flowers bloom as spring rolls around. That is why decided to try and capture that experience in my project. One of the reasons why I chose to do this theme is because I have been inspired by how nature looks in digital art, film, and games. For example, I have played the game "Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild," and I love how they incorporated nature into the open-world landscape. They have trees everywhere, they ...

Process Page:     This week I worked on finalizing the hand texture, and creating the land to put the grass on. I finished texturing the hand in the beginning of the week. Originally I was using a different texture, but I decided to change it because the texture seemed a little too patchy. Instead I decided to use another texture option from one of my blog posts that was more subtle. I think it looks a lot better now that I fixed it. This is when I first started the process of creating a landscape. I inserted a plane, and then I added a subdivision surface to it so that the plane would have more vertices and I would be able to sculpt it. However, I made a mistake while creating this landscape. Because I am adding grass on top of the landscape, I needed to add the grass image as a plane so that the grass would be the right texture. Because of this I will probably have to redo the landscape. Here is where I stopped for this week. I thought I would be done sculpt...

Experimentation Page:           I decided to look at a some refresher tutorials on how to create landscape. I found two that were helpful, and I plan to look back at them when I actually start making the landscape. This video gives a review of how to sculpt your terrain and offers a basic understanding of how to change the poly number, and how to make it smooth. This tutorial I mainly liked because it gave an overview of different terrain options in the beginning of the video. Two terrains specifically that I plan to use are below. These are the two types of terrain that I plan to incorporate in my landscape. My plan is to have a depression thin the middle where I can put the tree, and then a few hill-ish variations around the tree so that it hides the end of the plane and creates a natural skyline. Work Log: Monday: I finished animating the hand Tuesday: I started texturing the hand Wednesday: Continued texturing the hand Thursday: Finished texturing...
