End of MP3 Presentations Reflection

 Krish:

One presentation that inspired me is Krish's work. I liked how he originally was making scene work that was kind of sci fi and then decided to try a different direction by making forest/landscape art. I especially like this finished piece he made. What I like about this piece is that it feels very cohesive but not boring in any way. The colors of the fall leaves along with the cabin and grass create a cozy look and the river adds a nice composition break up of the land. I also am very impressed by the rock and water textures and modeling. Even though I am no longer modeling, I can understand the hard work it takes to make something like this. I can also appreciate the color pallet that this piece has and I hope to also achieve this level of cohesiveness in the colors of my art.

Savannah:

Another presentation that stood out to me was Savannah's. I liked how she worked on different things so she could get rid of her art block instead of getting stuck on the same project. This is something I could work on myself because sometimes I find myself getting stuck on the project I am doing and not having motivation to continue. I eventually do get out of these temporary blocks but it's difficult to and would probably be easier if I just let myself work on another project for a while instead. I also like how she wasn't afraid to work with different mediums for her art and even combine them. For example, she created her Kirby in blender, started sculpting a head with clay, 3D printed one of her models from before, and finally made a wooden base for it.

Neo:

The last presentation that I wanted to highlight is Neo's. Neo did a small investigation on color theory about "hue shifting." It is when you introduce other colors when you are shading instead of just desaturating them. It can be used to make the colors and shading more vibrant and eye catching. I found this very interesting and would like to try it out in my own work. The last picture is only one of the many finished products that Neo made, but this one I especially liked. I love how vibrant the colors are and how the piece almost gives a mystical feeling even though the artwork is of a real animal. I also like how detailed it is and how it looks realistic why still having it's own style. These parts of Neo's presentation really inspired me and made me want to incorporate hue shifting into my own art work.
