 Reflection Post:

I finally finished the geometric hummingbird that I have been working on for a while. Here is the finished image:

Overall I am pretty happy with how it looks finished. This one by far was the most difficult out of the three birds I made because of how long it took, and how intricate it is compared to the others. I honestly wasn't trying to make this one have so many more shapes than the blue bird, but it just kind of happened. Part of the reason might be because of how many color gradients/transitions I had to make, and part of it might just be the nature of the reference image and pose. The wing and tail feathers took up 80% of my time and were very meticulous, while the head and main body were pretty easy and quick to make because they were something I was already familiar with from the past birds.
One things about this bird that I could improve on is the color of the wing. For example, I think the color of this type of hummingbird's real wings are more of a brown color than a green, but I got a little lazy towards the end and just made them greenish because that's what the reference picture showed (because of the green background and the wings being semi transparent). I also could have probably perfected the warm vs cool balance on the part of the bird that is the transition from the wing to body. However, I don't have the patience to perfect it right now, I think I have spent enough time on the bird already, and it looks good enough for my satisfaction currently.
