Inspiration Blog Post:

I recently found a short film by Anamon studios that I really enjoyed. This studio was founded by a threesome: Kuo, Dixon Wong, and Andrew Wedell. They work in digital animation, and each specialize in different skills, including rigging, animating, and lighting.

This bitter sweet short film is about a mother and daughter that have a loving relationship, but as they age, their relationship slowly grows distant. This short film was beautifully made, and there are a few things that inspired me. One of them was the lighting. I liked how natural and bright the lighting was in the beginning of the film, and I hope I can achieve a similar glow in my own animation. Another thing that inspired me was the music in the background. In the beginning there is soft background music, but later on there is a song that plays. Both the background music and the song add to the animation significantly. It adds to the mood and emotional feeling, and it matches very well to what is happening on screen. I plan to add some type of background sound or music as my animation plays to hopefully make it feel more complete, just like this one did.
