Inspiration Page:

One collection of artists that inspired me during my project was Blender Studios. Blender Studios has made many animations to demonstrate how blender can be used. They also make tutorials about how to use blender. They are a team developed by Blender to showcase the potential of their free engine.

Here are some of their art works that inspired me specifically:

One thing that specifically inspired me in the short film "Spring" was how realistic the nature in the forest looked; the grass, the landscape, the trees etc. Another thing that inspired me was how well they changed the colors and look of the nature to match the change in season. Especially when at one point in the short film it cut to a shot of a pink flower blooming. The technique they used to animate the flower growing is also very impressive, and inspires me to try more animating techniques.

In the second short film called "Caminades" I was inspired by the animation of the animal, and how it shows a different style that is more cartoon like. For example, the way the animal walks is not very realistic and instead bouncy. This inspires me to explore the different styles of animation and modeling I could use in my project; instead of sticking to the same type of animation and modeling for my projects.

Work Log:

Monday:
I continued following the YouTube tutorial on how to make a tree.

Tuesday:
I worked on adding a texture to the leaf by watching tutorials and using the knowledge I already have.

Wednesday:
I worked more on the leaf texture by following tutorials on the nodes to use.

Thursday:
I worked on the leaf texture again, using nodes like mapping to give the leaf a more realistic look.

Friday:
I worked on finding a rigged hand model I could use from blend swap.
